How It Works

Design with discipline. Restraint as a rule.

Archive operates through a domestic network of Canadian specialists. Design and development are anchored in Vancouver; our footwear is engineered in Toronto, and leather goods in Montreal. Every leather piece is produced in focused workshops where technical depth and precision still dictate the pace of the bench.

This structure is entirely intentional. By bypassing the convenience of mass production, we remain close to the grain, prioritizing expertise over scale. It is a slower model than the industry standard, but we believe that is the only way to protect the integrity of the Archive.

Priority Access

How to Access the Archive

Our production is dictated by the pace of the tannery and precision on the workbench. Because we prioritize welted construction and rare, small-batch leathers, our volumes are strictly limited.

Newsletter: The newsletter is our primary point of contact for all new Volumes and limited editions.

Early Access: When a new Volume is ready, email subscribers receive a private link 48 hours before the public release.

The Allocation: With production capped at ultra-limited numbers, the early access window is the only guaranteed way to secure your item.

The Build

Made to Order

Keeping the run this small allows us to focus on build quality, material integrity, and finishing rather than excess inventory. Pieces are made to order, with a process built around precision and typical lead times of two to four months.

Material Sourcing: We secure the leather and hardware needed for the run, ordering with intention and based on the exact number of belts in production.

Workshop Production: Your piece enters the workshop, where the leather is cut, assembled, stitched, and finished by hand. This is the most time-intensive part of the process, and the place where the build really takes shape.

Finishing and Inspection: Each piece moves through final finishing and quality control, where the details are checked, the structure is reviewed, and the piece is prepared for shipment.

Fulfillment: Once complete, your piece is packed and dispatched for delivery.
