Railtown Camp Moc

Limited run of 25 Pairs. Handcrafted in Canada.

Sale price$875

Cut from two distinct horse hides – a nod to the Year of the Horse – the Railtown Camp Moc is designed for seamless transitions. A technical heritage piece that remains as functional in the woods as it is refined in the city. Traditional pinked edges provide subtle character that balance classic craftsmanship with personality. Inside, a plush suede-lined heel ensures a secure, slip-free fit.

Our Camp Moc represents a full-circle moment for the workshop. Fifteen years ago, Jules ripped apart a failing boat shoe on her workbench, understood the construction, and stitched it back together by hand to launch her career. From the hand-stitched details to the purposefully engineered durability, more than a decade of refined craft is visible in every aspect of this new shoe.

Legacy: Regular conditioning ensures the leather ages with intention.

Fit & Dimensions

As a core advantage of our made-to-order model, Volume 02 offers a range of widths rarely found in ready-to-wear or mass produced models. This allows us to prioritize anatomical precision over standard sizing.

Fit Guidance:

  • The Silhouette: Expect a more exacting, secure fit than off-the-shelf footwear.
  • The Consultation: We will contact you once you’ve placed your order to confirm sizing. We prefer to get the first chapter right.

Leather

The Railtown Camp Moc is available in two distinct leathers.

Maryam Culatta Cavallo Vacchetta in Natural

Sourced from the storied Santa Croce sull'Arno region of Tuscany, this leather is a traditional vegetable-tanned leather that highlights the dense, intricate grain of the horse breech. Vegetable tanned using centuries-old slow, traditional methods, the leather is resistant to abrasion while maintaining a soft, supple hand. Initially light in tone, it will develop a deep, honey-colored patina.

Horween Yellowstone Double Horsefront in English Tan

Produced by the historic Horween Leather Co. in Chicago, this leather features a glossy, waxy finish with immediate character. The grain structure is highly pronounced; its natural pebbled texture is accentuated by a rich contrast between the peaks and valleys of the grain. Over time, high-friction areas will burnish to a high luster, while lower-wear zones retain a sophisticated matte finish.

Construction

Each pair is engineered using Blake-stitch construction, securing the upper, insole, and outsole together in a single, precise pass that results in an exceptionally lightweight and flexible shoe right out of the box.  Unlike mass-produced alternatives, this method preserves the integrity of the leather and allows for a more natural footbed feel. The Camp Moc is fully recraftable, designed to be resoled as the years accumulate.

The traditional hand-stitched moc toe provides extra volume at the front of the shoe, allowing the toes to splay naturally for all-day comfort. When lasted down — where the leather upper is pulled tightly over the last and wrapped completely underneath by hand — and paired with a suede-lined heel, the shoe delivers a secure, glove-like fit that eliminates slipping.

Foundation

The Railtown Camp Moc is anchored by a natural leather midsole and two different outsoles.

Vibram Montagna 132 in Honey

This versatile lug sole provides a strong grip and a slightly more rugged stance. Engineered for relentless durability, Vibram outsoles provide the rugged, slip-resistant grip and structural permanence required to handle concrete and loose terrain alike.

Lactate Hevea Aspen

This refined wedge sole provides a sleek profile and luxurious feel, while retaining the resilience required for daily use. Harvested from the milk of the hevea tree in France, these natural rubber soles have a unique colour and texture not seen in synthetic rubbers.

The Railtown Camp Moc is limited to a made-to-order run of 25 pairs.

By limiting this run to 25 pairs, we again shift the focus from inventory to intimacy. This approach prioritizes fit, build quality, and material integrity over sheer volume, resulting in a product that outlives the wearer.

A Note on the Variables

We do not believe in shortcuts. If a timeline extends, it’s a reflection of our refusal to compromise the structural integrity of your Volume. While we’ll prioritize maintaining delivery dates, we’ll remain in close contact with you if any dates are shifted.
